College: Northern Kentucky University, B.S., 1986Biography: Hi, I am Jon Dameron. I am an associate with Cathy Cook. I will do whatever I can to assist you in your legal situation. My practice, like Cathy’s, is focused on family law and criminal defense.
I have been practicing law since 1991. Initially, I worked for a plaintiff’s employment firm. In 1994, I established my own firm, and began concentrating in criminal defense and family law. In 2000, I joined a small firm as a partner, and continued to represent mostly criminal defense and family law clients.
Cathy Cook and I have been friends for 12 or 14 years. When she told me she was looking to add an attorney to her firm, I told her I knew someone who might be interested. I joined Cathy’s firm in the summer of 2007.
There were many reasons I joined Cathy’s firm, but two primary reasons were passion and professionalism. Cathy and I both have a passion for the law. We both fight hard for our clients. What I mean by professionalism, is being accessible to our clients, by phone, e-mail, or appointment, when they need to consult with us, and staying abreast of new developments in the law, by checking all new decisions of the First District Court of appeals and attending seminars – some of which have been taught by Cathy.
I am a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association and its Domestic Relations Committee, as well as the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. I am an adjunct professor at Miami University, teaching a class on criminal justice. I have spoken at seminars for lawyers for the Cincinnati Bar Association and the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. I also ran for judge in 2005.
When I ran for judge, the Cincinnati Bar Association’s Judicial Rating Committee endorsed me and said about me, “He is viewed as a knowledgeable, passionate, aggressive attorney.’
I am married and have two beautiful daughters, ages 7 and 5.
