Mr. Scott Brooks, Senior Paralegal
College: American Institute For Paralegal Studies, Certificate, 1987
Hello, I’m Scott Brooks. As with Cathy, it is always my goal, to help you through the challenges that bring you to our office. We see our clients as people first and respect the uniqueness and dignity of everyone who seeks our assistance. My role is singular, to assist Cathy and Ethan to represent you to the best of our abilities. Often, I am also the “translator”. When the attorneys are engulfed in the legal nuances of your case, I am always available to speak with you in clear, ordinary, words to make you as comfortable as I can with the particulars of your matter.
As a Paralegal, I do not, and am not permitted to give you legal advice, nor am I permitted to represent you at court hearings. I do often participate in settlement conferences and draft a majority of the motions and pleadings that will be used in your case. Most often, you will meet and get to know me first, as you begin to gather and discuss the necessary information and documentation we will need from you to represent you properly.
In 1987, I obtained a paralegal certificate from the American Institute of Paralegal Studies. I have also taken classes at the University of Cincinnati, focusing in the area of Sociology. I worked briefly at Frost and Jacobs before meeting Cathy and talking her into letting me do research for her for a capital case she was defending. In June, 1990, I began working with Cathy and we have been together ever since. We concluded some time ago, that although we have distinct styles and personalities, the combination of our capacities serve our clients well. We trust you will find this to be true as you get to work with us.
